ABOUT ME
I’m Brian LaVar Shackelford from North Carolina, born in Wilson, raised in Zebulon. Where the heck is that, right? I started my graphic design education at Johnston Community College and finished up at Barton College. I receiving a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design. I studied many different art styles in college, but was truly inspired by the hand-drawn marks and expressionistic style of the Harlem Renaissance. The works of Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence and Aaron Douglas inspired my art and graphic design style.
I moved to Northern Virginia in 2012 to start a career in real estate marketing. That passion for real estate marketing evolved into a career at GreenLine Real Estate in Washington DC, where I’ve worked since 2017 as the Marketing Director.
Working as a Marketing Director and as a freelance designer allows me to utilize my skills in layout design, social media content creation, logo design and product branding. My goal is to continue helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses through identity branding while providing tailored marketing strategies. View my latest work.
I currently live in Northern Virginia with my wife and four children. I enjoy getting lost in a book, music or video game and going on vacation with my wife and four kids.
